Let's be real for a second. Most companies use deceiving and complicated words to describe the metals in their jewelry. They use confusing lingo like gold colored, gold-tone, gold plated, etc. without really telling you what that means.
Our free e-book is a simple guide that breaks down the confusing jewelry terms to help you make smarter, more informed decisions about what you're buying.
I would say the number one question that we get asked on a regular basis is about the metals we use for our jewelry. Whether it is online or in person, customers can easily get caught up in all the jumble and jargon used to describe the metal. Some of it can be very deceiving, so it's no wonder why we get so many questions about it.
When I started to design and make jewelry, I have to admit.... *cough* that I had no clue what I was doing. I really didn't know the difference between brass, bronze, gold filled, and gold plated. I had a very vague idea but I didn't fully understand why some pieces tarnished and why some didn't.
As I was learning about the metals, I also started to understand more about how they hold up. It was an uh-ha!! moment to say the least. I couldn't believe all the stupid jewelry purchases I had made before knowing this. I would buy a piece, wear it, then it would irritate my skin or it would start to discolor. An endless cycle that has cost me a lot of money over the years. Can you relate?
As a jewelry designer, I want my customers to know what they are buying from me. I want to be as straight up as I can so they can make informed decisions. And as a consumer, I think this knowledge is something that every man or women should know....at least if they buy and wear jewelry! ;)
We have crammed a ton of information in this quick and easy-to-read e-book, The Savvy Guide to Buying Jewelry
It only made sense for us to write our fist e-book about jewelry because it's what we started the company with. And this topic has been brewing in my head for months.
